“Low fat.” “Organic.” “Non GMO.” “Any other random claim that we can come up with to sell more product.”
Let’s be honest… there are so many nutritional claims out there that it can be really difficult to decide what to listen to, what really works, and who to trust.
So we’ve decided to narrow down the list for you to make sure that you know exactly what you’re getting and how some of our favorite brands and products can help you specifically with your nutritional needs.
Remember that everyone is unique and should customize based on what nutritional factors work for them specifically. Next time you’re in the studio, feel free to speak with one of our personal trainers to help you create a nutritional plan that is entirely tailored to YOU.
But now, here are some of our favorite brands and products that we recommend checking out ASAP.:
Best for:Almond butter and coconut butter on-the-go squeeze packets
Why we love it:Artisana Organics makes their products using a crazy unique temperature controlled process. This preserves the essential fatty acids, proteins, vitamins, and enzymes in the food to bring you the ultimate dose of nutritional content. Their products include no oil, preservatives, toxic pesticides, GMOs, chemicals, or artificial flavorings. Just pure, healthy nutrition in an incredibly delicious package.
Find them:In most Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Vitamin Cottage stores
Why we love it:In addition to having delicious flavor offerings (I see you, Korean Barbeque Beef Jerky), we love how Lorissa’s Kitchen is committed to working with farmers that are incredibly focused on animal well-being. All of the animals used are raised responsibly without antibiotics or growth-hormones and they use only 100% grass-fed beef. For you, this means food of the highest quality with delicious flavors and a more moist, tender bite. As close to perfection as we’ve found!
Find them:On Amazon or in most Target and Walgreens stores
Best for:Whole food protein bars
Why we love it:This squad is super up-front - they tell you right on the front of the packaging what’s included! All flavor varieties include 3 egg whites, 6 almonds, and 2 dates… plus a couple of ingredients based on flavor, but with “no B.S. added.” You’ll recognize almost every ingredient included, no matter the flavor bar you select. So if you want a healthy protein bar that you can find most places, then this is the direction we recommend.
Find them:At this point, their bars are available in most grocery stores and coffee shops around the country.
Best for:Healthy sweet snack bars and cookies
Why we love it:Using primarily honey, coconut oil, and natural nuts & seeds, Ona Foods hand crafts their products in nearby Loveland, Colorado and focuses on using natural foods that fuel our bodies in the best way possible. While all of their bars and cookies taste sweet, thanks to the natural honey and coconut oil included, you can feel good that you’re feeding your body with healthy fats and ingredients that will make you feel happier, healthier, and more vibrant every day.
Find them:Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, Amazon
Best for:Dark Chocolate Truffles (swoon!) and really any chocolate bar.
Why we love it:Alter Eco is focused on full circle sustainability. Working with only whole ingredients and small scale farmers, these guys are improving the quality of food and quality of life all over the globe. Our personal favorite truffles are made with pure, organic coconut oil from Kerala, India, and cacao from Peru and Ecuador. In fact, Alter Eco is so focused on sustainability that even their truffle wrappers are compostable!
