Has anyone else noticed how dry it is ‘round these parts lately? Blame it on the weather.

Lucky for you, we have another easy peasy DIY that’ll get that skin prepped for Winter-time. This one combines a few of our Fall favorites - coffee and pumpkin! This scrub will get rid of the dead skin, moisturize the heck out of the skin underneath, and leave you smellin’ sweet as pie ;). Let’s break down the ingredients for you:

Pumpkin is a superfood! It’s not only for your insides, but your outsides too. It’s packed with Vitamin C and Zinc - both of which will promote elasticity and collagen, brighten your skin, and help protect your lovely epidermis from free radicals in the air.

Coffee Grounds are a natural exfoliant! Not only do they reduce redness and inflammation, but they brighten dull skin too. And, as an added bonus, it reduces the appearance of cellulite ;).

Raw Sugar is another fantastic exfoliator, but not only that, it’s a natural humectant! What the heck is a humectant? Well, it means that it draws moisture from the environment into the skin, helping to hydrate your skin and keep moisture within.

Coconut Oil … ah, sweet coconut oil. It’s literally a cure all. It moisturizes (without nasty chemicals), and it’s got all kinds of Vitamin E to prevent wrinkles and premature aging.

Optional ingredients: throw in a few drops of each of the following essential oils - clove, cinnamon, or orange. They aren’t required, but they will pump up the smelly deliciousness :).

Coffee Pumpkin Sugar Scrub

Here's what you need:

1 tbsp pumpkin puree
7 tbsp ground coffee
1 tsp raw sugar
2 tbsp organic coconut oil

Here's what you do:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Run your shower. Get it nice and warm and steamy so it opens up those pores. Warm up, and turn off the shower and slather yo’self in your delightful scrub. Let is sink into your skins for 5-ish minutes - let that coconut oil really penetrate your skin. Rinse and pat yourself dry - don’t rub! If there is anything left over, put it in an airtight container and use until it’s done! Or … grab your significant other and do it all over again ;).
