At The REBEL Workout, we like to take good things, and make them great. We love kicking off our mornings with BP Coffee, and here are 5 ways that you can take it to the next level.
Start with the Original Bulletproof Coffee recipe found HERE (hi Dave!):
- Brew 1 cup (8-12oz) of coffee, using filtered water, with 2.5 heaping tablespoons of organic coffee
- Add in 1-2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil, or MCT oil
- Add in 1-2 tablespoons of grass-fed, unsalted butter
- Mix it all up in a pre-heated blender until it’s frothy like a latte
Spice it up by adding:
Turmeric: turmeric has long been used in the Chinese and Indian systems of medicine for it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Next time your muscles are in need of recovery, try adding turmeric!
Ginger: similar to turmeric, ginger has been shown to be effective against muscle-induced pain. Not only that, it’s great for helping to treat nausea.
Vanilla: vanilla is a cognitive enhancing agent, so next time you’re in need of mental performance boost, add vanilla to your BP Coffee!
Ceylon Cinnamon: loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties (are you noticing a trend yet?!), Ceylon Cinnamon – or true cinnamon – is one of the healthiest spices on the planet.
Cayenne: next time you wake up with cold like symptoms, have a headache, find yourself with digestive issues, or you’re looking for a little heat, add some cayenne to your BP Coffee!
BONUS: With summer quickly approaching, make your BP Coffee iced! Use the original Bulletproof Coffee recipe, but substitute ghee for the grass-fed butter - it won’t separate when iced - and pour over ice. Want to make it even better? Use leftover brewed coffee to pour into ice cube molds, and pour your BP Coffee over your frozen coffee cubes to eliminate a watered down Iced BP Coffee!
